"Chinese Medicine in America: How can it benefit us?" with Dr. Yong Ping Chen In-Person / Online

Join us for "Chinese Medicine in America: How can it benefit us?" an Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month lecture with Dr. Yong Ping Chen on Tuesday, April 30th from 1:00pm - 2:00pm. The in-person event will be held in Broome 1320, and the lecture will also be streamed live as a Zoom webinar.  

Dr. Chen's career spans more two decades. Her academic expertise focuses on using Western Medicine diagnosis with a Chinese Medicine approach; and applying abdominal acupuncture, trigger point acupuncture, and Fu's subcutaneous needling to treat muscular-skeletal pain, digestive diseases, immune disorders, and more. Her lecture will cover:

  1. A brief history of Chinese Medicine in America/California
  2. What conditions can be treated by acupuncture according to the WHO?
  3. What conditions can Chinese Herbal Medicine treat?
  4. Does insurance cover acupuncture?
  5. When do we need acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine?
  6. What can we expect from Chinese Medicine treatment?
  7. How do top hospitals in America use acupuncture and do research?
