"We Belong Here: Supporting Black and Brown Scientists" by Dr. Angeline Dukes In-Person / Online

Dr. Angeline Dukes is a daughter of immigrants and a first-generation college graduate. She earned her Bachelor's degree in biology from the Historically Black College/University, Fisk University then her Masters and PhD in neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine. She is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota where she actively supports historically marginalized researchers. Dr. Dukes also serves as the current President of Black In Neuro, a non-profit organization that supports Black scholars in neuroscience-related fields worldwide.

Five CI student attendees will win a copy of Dr. Dukes's book choice, Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do by Claude Steel. This event has been generously funded by students via the Instructionally Related Activities fund.
