Arab-American Heritage Month Lecture: "Syrians in Southern California: A Gendered History" By Dr. Sarah Gualtieri In-Person / Online

Professor Sarah Gualtieri is an award-winning historian, teacher, and author. She is professor in the departments of American Studies and Ethnicity, History, and Middle East Studies at the University of Southern California. Her research bridges several areas of expertise, notably Middle East Migration Studies and Arab American Studies. Her most recent book Arab Routes: Pathways to Syrian California (Stanford University Press, 2020) won the Arab American Book Award and the Alixa Naff Prize in Migration Studies.

Five student attendees will win raffled copies of Dr. Gualtieri's latest book, Arab Routes: Pathways to Syrian California (Stanford University Press, 2020), which won the Arab American Book Award and the Alixa Naff Prize in Migration Studies.

This event is generously funded via student Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) fees. The Center for International Affairs is generously hosting the in-person space to engage with the lecturer in Broome 2480!
