Faculty Works in Progress: Dr. Colleen Delaney

Faculty Works in Progress: Dr. Colleen Delaney In-Person / Online

Dr. Colleen Delaney will discuss her soon-to-be-published popular history book, Rancho Guadalasca: Last Ranch of California's Central Coast (May 29, 2023). She is looking for colleagues who might have related/additional information to share, and hoping to solicit faculty who might incorporate the book topics/themes/people/events into courses Fall 2023. Lunch provided by the Center for Integrative Studies.

Colleen M. Delaney spent her childhood interested in history, stories and special places as her family frequently moved, ultimately calling eight U.S. states and Germany home. She channeled these interests to earn a BA in anthropology and minor in museum studies at Beloit College and master’s and PhD degrees in anthropological archaeology at UCLA. Currently a professor at California State University Channel Islands, Professor Delaney uses archaeology, anthropology, history and oral history to tell the stories of the past and present in Ventura County, California.

Faculty Development and the Broome Library are collaborating to offer ways for faculty to share and discuss their research and creative activities through a bi-weekly series called "Works in Progress." This includes everything from a new research project being explored to something recently published. The series is biweekly, with in-person events on Thursday afternoons, and Zoom events on Friday afternoons.

The University encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
